Netflix on 31 march confirmed a “handfull of layoffs” two of which include the post of senior executives.The company laid-off 150 employees in May, 2022.A month later it will go off 300 more workers,representing 3% of it’s total employees at the time.
Disney announced there will be three rounds of layoffs in a statement to staff on 27 March.About 7000 employees will be affected by the job losses which were announced in February.
Amazon on march layoffs of 9000 workers were announced.This takes the overall number of job losses for Amazon’s corporate personnel this year to 27,000 which includes the 18,000 layoffs that were disclosed in January.
Microsoft recently announced layoff of 10,000 employees. Earlier on 27 March,Microsoft laid off 599 employees from its Bellevue & Redmond offices.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on March 14,confirmed rumours that the company will be laying off 10,000 employees. This is in addition to the 11,000 jobs lost in November.
Twitter more than 200 employees were let go by Twitter, as per announcement on 26 February. The number of employees at Twitter has decreased by more than 70% since Musk took over the firm in October of last year.
Alphabet, Google’s parent company on 21 January stated that 12,000 workers or 6% of it’s global workforce, will be laid off.
Accenture said on 23 March that it will be laying off 19,000 employees, or 2.5% of the workforce.
LinkedIn on May 8 announced that it will phase down it’s local employment app in China & slash 716 jobs or around 3.6% of all positions. In addition to eliminating certain positions, LinkedIn expects to add roughly 250 new positions.
