Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have made their first public discourse after the pop star filed for divorce after 4 years of marriage in a Miami court on Tuesday. On Saturday, he publicly announced his divorce from the “Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner while performing onstage at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
“Statement from the two of us,” Jonas and Turner wrote in a post on their own Instagram profiles. “After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to end our marriage peacefully.” There are numerous theoretical explanations, but this is a unanimous choice, and we genuinely hope that everyone can respect our requests for privacy for ourselves and our children.”
Joe is presently on tour along with his brothers Nick and Kevin Jonas, titled “THE TOUR.” Before the band’s performance of “Hesitate,” which was supposedly inspired by Jonas’ connection with Turner, Jonas made the acknowledgment. According to Page Six, he later felt emotional and shed a single tear throughout the song.
Jonas and Turner began dating in 2016 and married on May 1, 2019 in an unplanned ceremony at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. They currently have two children together.
Initially, it was reported that the breakup was prompted by Sophie’s “partying,” although previous interviews revealed that she was a “homebody” while Joe was a “social butterfly.” On the other hand, according to rumors, Joe filed for divorce after discovering or hearing anything on a Ring camera footage involving Sophie.
In an apparent response to some of the criticism he’s gotten on social media, Jonas also warned fans not to trust anything about their relationship “unless you hear it from these lips.”
He also thanked and showed his immense love towards his fan-base.
Now, Jonas is requesting “shared parental responsibility” following the divorce, according to his legal petition. The paper also said that Jonas and Turner signed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding in 2019.
